Nurse (holding the functional title of Research Nurse) in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 536309) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Studies or equivalent, and be registered with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.  They should have at least 3 years’ research or patient care experience; demonstrate motivation and adaptability; possess strong organisational and interpersonal skills; exhibit a strong sense of responsibility; and have project management skills.  They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).  Experience in project and stakeholder management for community-based work within the local context would be an advantage.

The appointee will support an innovative community-based osteoporosis prevention project.  Key duties include conducting baseline and follow-up assessments, screening for contraindications and providing education on bone health and medication.  He/She will also oversee and manage day-to-day study operations; liaise with collaborators, community partners, and other stakeholders; and support and lead research assistants to implement project activities.  Working outside normal office hours and on weekends may be required.
