Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Communications Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the School of Future Media (Ref.: 536321) to commence as soon as possible, on two-year fixed term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary,  with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The appointee will be responsible for managing a spectrum of communications, marketing activities and external affairs initiatives for the School. The major responsibilities include:

  • Implementing effective communication and marketing strategies to enhance the School’s brand and promote its activities;
  • Overseeing the production of marketing materials in both Chinese (traditional and simplified) and English, including website content, social media channels, brochures, flyers and newsletters;
  • Coordinating and promoting events, including conferences, film screenings, seminars and workshops;
  • Managing an updated alumni database to ensure records of alumni contact information; and
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the School Director.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism and Marketing, or a related field with at least 4 years’ relevant work experience in communications or marketing, preferably in higher education, creative industries or social media/content production. Applicants should have a proven track record in operating major social media platforms relevant to the Hong Kong and Mainland Chinese markets, such as LinkedIn, Red, Instagram, WeChat, YouTube, and Facebook. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) is required. Knowledge of website content management and graphic design tools such as Wordpress, Mailchimp, Canvas, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator is highly preferred. Candidates must have a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, time management and problem-solving skills. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
