Assistant Technical Manager (holding the functional title of Optometrist) in the Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 536565) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Optometry and be a registered Optometrists (Part I) with The Optometrists Board of Hong Kong SAR under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance.  Those with relevant experience in research projects, clinical trials and large-scale community projects would have advantages.  They should be well-organized, responsible, self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task and work independently as well as collaboratively as a team.

The appointee will be involved in large-scale community-based screening projects in various districts and in hospitals/clinics.  He/She will support clinical services; perform ophthalmic examinations and investigations; assist in procurement and daily maintenance of the ophthalmic equipment and devices; and perform data collection and analysis.  Occasional overtime work may be required. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
