Director of Digital and Innovation (MSc Programmes) (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 536810) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Qualifications and Qualities
- a strong bachelor’s degree, with at least 7 years’ work experience (at least 4 years in a managerial/leadership role) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Business Analytics, Technology Management, or a related discipline;
- a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to multitask under pressure and work collaboratively across different functional areas;
- strategic-minded, innovative, detail-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility;
- proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing large-scale digital transformation projects, and driving innovation;
- proficiency in analytics and technology tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, cloud-based technologies and AI
- sound knowledge and solid experience in generative AI, intelligent automation and digital solution design would be an advantage; and
- experience in project management and in the higher education sector would be a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- lead the Faculty's newly established Digital and Innovation Team to support various functional teams of MSc Programmes;
- formulate and implement digital transformation strategies to support the Faculty's MSc programmes and the MSc 2.0 strategic initiatives;
- oversee the areas of data analytics, systems development, digital solutions, automation and artificial intelligence;
- lead and mentor a team of managers and technical professionals;
- develop and drive innovative technology solutions to enhance programme operations, student experience and stakeholder engagement;
- establish data governance and technology standards;
- manage strategic technology projects and vendor relationships;
- collaborate with academic and administrative teams to identify opportunities for digital innovation and operational improvements;
- provide strategic advice to senior management on digital transformation, innovation and technology-related initiatives; and
- perform any other duties as assigned.
