Senior Research Assistant in the Centre for Psycho-oncology Research & Teaching and the Division of Behavioural Sciences of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 536972) (to commence as soon as possible for a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences, public health, or a related discipline with at least 3 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience. Applicants should demonstrate substantial experience in monitoring project progress and liaising with clinical sites. Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative data analysis are required, with proficiency in SPSS or other statistical software. Experience in patient recruitment within clinical settings and conducting qualitative interview analysis is highly desirable. Additionally, experience in submitting application for ethical approval and coordinating efforts across multiple projects is advantageous. Prior supervision of junior staff and team manpower management is also highly desirable. Applicants should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating closely with clinical partners and external stakeholders.

The appointee will oversee project execution, ensure effective coordination across study sites, and monitor progress to achieve established milestones. He/She will be responsible for supervising data collection and analysis, preparing reports, and supporting the team in maintaining high data quality standards and ensuring timely project delivery. He/She will also liaise with clinical collaborators to facilitate patient recruitment and study operations, as well as managing and assisting with intervention and cohort studies. Additionally, the appointee will oversee and mentor junior research staff, providing guidance and training to ensure smooth daily operations. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
