AI Engineer (at the rank of Research Assistant II) in the School of Computing and Data Science (ref.:537095) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related field, along with:
- Proven experience as a full-stack Web Developer.
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python (Flask).
- Hands-on experience with Vercel AI SDK, Model Context Protocol, and agent tool calls.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services and Azure OpenAI API.
- Knowledge of web servers and deployment (Apache, Gunicorn).
The appointee will join an interdisciplinary team from the Faculty of Law and the School of Computing and Data Science on a project integrating legal research, teaching and learning, community engagement, and AI development.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and deploy a next-generation AI application utilizing Vercel AI SDK, MCP, and agent tool calling.
- Model, query, and manage databases using Prisma ORM and PostgreSQL.
- Integrate and deploy cloud AI solutions via Azure Cloud Services (including Azure OpenAI API).
- Maintain and support existing web applications (Python/Flask).
