Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 537100)

We now invite applications for appointment as Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Education.

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has established a Common Core Curriculum (CCC) for all undergraduates since September 2012. The Common Core has five Areas of Inquiry— Scientific and Technological Literacy; Arts & Humanities; Global Issues; China: Culture, State and Society; and Artificial Intelligence—that span the ten academic Faculties of HKU with English as the medium of instruction. The CCC course “CCCH9051 Digitizing Cultural Heritage in Greater China” aims to develop students’ knowledge and skills relevant to preserving and promoting cultural heritage through digital technologies. More information about this course can be found at https://commoncore.hku.hk/ccch9051/.

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will assist in the teaching of the CCC course (CCCH9051), conducting small-group tutorials, marking assignments and offering feedback, preparing teaching materials, supervising student work, and undertaking other related tasks as assigned.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Management, Social Sciences, Humanities, or any relevant disciplines. Familiarity with cultural heritage in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland is an advantage. Those with teaching at secondary or tertiary level are highly preferable.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on a temporary full-time basis for six months, to commence as soon as possible but no later than January 1, 2027.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
