We are looking for a Senior Executive Assistant to join the Department of Geography.

The Role

The appointee will play a pivotal role in the General Office, reporting to the Head of the Department, the Deputy Head of Department for Teaching and Learning, and the Director of Undergraduate Studies. He/She will oversee the day-to-day operations of undergraduate programmes (including course timetabling, enrolment management, syllabus updates, and examinations); serve as the primary frontline point of contact for undergraduate student inquiries and advising; assist in coordinating curriculum review processes and external assessment exercises; manage the preparation and regular updating of programme-related materials; support outreach activities and alumni relations; assist in organizing departmental events; and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • A Bachelor's degree in Geography or a related discipline;
  • At least 1 year of relevant, full-time administrative work experience (experience in tertiary education administration or undergraduate programme support is highly preferred);
  • A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail;
  • IT proficiency (including Microsoft Office; familiarity with university administration systems such as Moodle is an advantage), with the ability to multitask;
  • A good team player, self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaborating effectively with different academic units, staff, and students;
  • A strong sense of responsibility and an unwavering commitment to ethical conduct, transparency, and collegiality.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
