Applicants are invited for appointment as Teaching Assistant in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care (Ref.: 537455) to commence as soon as possible on a one-year basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree, in Education, Gender, Cultural Studies, or a related discipline, with a strong academic interest in or focus on Sexuality Studies. Experience in tertiary-level teaching, tutorial facilitation, and student assessment is highly desirable.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills; proficiency in Cantonese would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in course administration, including managing online portal entries, handling student enquiries, and coordinating grading deadlines.
- Experience in organizing student activities, academic guest lectures, and workshop logistics.
Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of course materials, manage tutorial schedules, and facilitate tutorial groups for a Common Core course in the Humanities Area of Inquiry.
- Evaluate student assessments, including multi-media assignments and research planning, and provide detailed academic feedback.
- Coordinate guest lectures, honorarium requests, and logistics for external speaker.
- Liaise with administrative and finance staff regarding grade submissions, funding matters, and course logistics.
- Opportunities for research in sexuality and cultural studies, as well as publication collaboration, are also available.
