Research Assistant I in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 537460)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide short-term support for identifying major factors contributing to the poor performances of selected bus stops and bus routes in terms of estimated time of arrival and travel time reliability
• Liaise with bus companies, including conducting on-site observations and/or interviews, and use AI to identify common contributory factors
• Prepare documents and write up reports
• Assist in administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in transport-related disciplines
• Experience with conducting surveys
• Familiar with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and AI prompt engineering

What We Offer

The appointment will be expected to commence on 19th October, 2026 on a three-month fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
