Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 537464) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in taught-postgraduate programme administration experience within a tertiary institution. They should be effective communicators with the ability to work independently. An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese), a high level of interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, as well as a good level of IT proficiency are essential. Applicants should also be good team players, fast learners, and capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines. High attention to detail, accuracy, maturity, and leadership ability are expected.
The appointee will oversee and administer the management work in relation to Taught Postgraduate Programme administration and its financial management. He/She will handle daily office operations, support administrative tasks related to TPg programmes, and undertake ad-hoc or non-routine tasks as needed. Leading and supervising a small team of staff to deliver high-quality service is expected. The appointee will also be required to perform other duties as assigned, with occasional work outside normal office hours. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
