Manager/ Assistant Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/ Executive Officer) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) (Ref.: 537552) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)


HKUMed is looking for a motivated and proactive individual to join our expanding and dynamic Research Affairs Team.


Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the research postgraduate (RPg) programme at the faculty-level, in particular student recruitment and admissions, progress and probation monitoring, and coursework.
  • Providing administrative support to the faculty’s core research facilities, including but not limited to access booking, budgeting, human resources, and supporting management committee meetings.
  • Organizing seminars and workshops to promote research integrity and good practices for HKUMed staff and students.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to facilitate faculty-level initiatives.


Applicants should have:

  • A good university degree and at least 8 years’ relevant administrative experience in the higher education, public, or quasi-public sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Sound organizational, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good level of IT literacy.


Prior experience in postgraduate programme administration, managing research centres/core facilities, and committee support will be a distinct advantage. Applicants with less experience will be considered as Assistant Manager. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and written test.
