About the role
This role is key in developing a Procurement Strategy for the acquisition of services, programs and goods, plus the effective design of systems to ensure procurement activity meets Strategy 2030. The role will provide direct support to BSL management and staff to uplift the internal capability of teams, ensure Modern Slavery requirements are met and the inclusion of Indigenous suppliers are considered.
Core duties include:
You must be very hands on to be successful in this role. With limited reports and operating within a decentralised model, there will be loads to do. If you are keen to drive change in process and also improve the procurement capability, then please consider applying. You will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a Procurement Strategy.
- Conducting analysis and lead/support procurement activity across the organisation.
- Develop an annual Procurement Plan.
- Guide, support and at times lead contract negotiations, RFX activity, systems uplift and process development.
- Develop and train users org wide in contract management, contractor performance and purchasing decision making.
- Develop relevant reporting that can be used for spend analysis.

What we are looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for supporting the mission of BSL and delivering excellence in your role.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Business (Grad Dip, Masters, MBA).
- CIPS qualifications or other related
- Extensive experience leading the development and uplift of a procurement function.
- Extensive experience working within a complex business environment spanning multiple business domains.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategy.
- Demonstrated experience implementing systems/applications and reporting to support procurement activity.
- Ability to work in an organisation with low systems/application and data maturity
