Project Portfolio Lead

At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate and driven Project Portfolio Lead to join our dedicated Strategic Project Management Office team.

 

Location: Fitzroy Office 

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time, working 38 hours per week

Salary: $113,691.33 - $118,710.13 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.

About the role

Working closely with the Head of Strategic Project Management Office, the Project Portfolio Lead is responsible for managing the successful delivery of key projects to drive forward implementation of Strategy 2030. This role will help establish and maintain BSL’s project management framework, produce high-level reporting on pipeline and inflight initiatives, and mature organisational capability through producing templates, tools, and providing expert targeted advice. 

Core duties include:

  • Effectively oversee the delivery (i.e. from initiation to closure) of multiple major and minor projects linked to BSL strategic goals and financial objectives, in collaboration with key internal clients.
  • Develop, evolve, and strengthen project management delivery methodology, enforce standards, and keep projects balanced in time, resourcing, investment, and accuracy. 
  • Develop lead dashboards, delivery reports and metrics to monitor project portfolio performance.
  • Provide expert targeted advice and coaching to key clients to uplift project management capabilities within project teams and provide insights to their specific projects.
  • Negotiate and mediate complex project and management issues to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Extensive experience in the project management of a wide range of projects and programs, demonstrating a track record of successful delivery, adaptability and effective risk management. 
  • A track record of project management leadership in implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the function within organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience building organisational capacity.
  • Proactive, client-centred approach to defining work tasks, problem solving and delivering results.
