About the Role

This fantastic opportunity is for a motivated Graduate to join our General Insurance team in our Canberra office. Ideally, you will bring insurance experience as a paralegal or graduate, with a strong interest in Insurance Litigation.

This role offers exposure to a diverse range of CTP and general insurance matters and services including; defendant insurance, personal injury claims to more complex and catastrophic claims. Our specialised expertise lies in effectively managing high-volume and intricate disputes, offering tailored claims management solutions to insurers.

This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to receive mentoring from Senior Lawyers and the wider team which boasts a collegiate, innovative and collaborative culture. It is the perfect environment for you to develop your strategic-advice work and practice management skills, while gaining exposure to a variety of insurance litigation matters.

About you

We are interested in candidates who have maintained high academic performance throughout their studies and are motivated to gain expertise and insight into Insurance law. Ideally, you will have:

• A genuine interest in Insurance law and litigation
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work fast and meticulously with a high attention to detail
• A positive “can do” attitude and willingness to be a key member of a tight knit team
• Enthusiasm and willingness to work in a team, and also independently
• Ability to work collaboratively with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy
• The ability to prioritise tasks with ease
• A great work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your career

Education

• Completion of a recognised Bachelor of Laws in Australia
• Completion or about to complete Practical Legal Training (PLT)

• Ability to deal effectively with a broad range of people at all levels in business
• Active listener and receptive to feedback
• Innovative and alert to opportunities for continuous improvement and learning
