About the Role

This fantastic opportunity is for a Casual Paralegal to join our General Insurance team in our Canberra office. Ideally, you will either be a University student in your 1^st or 2^nd year of your law degree.

This role will see you working at least 3 days a week providing comprehensive paralegal and administrative support to the Principal Lawyer and team of senior lawyers.  This is a pivotal legal support role with varied workload, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines. This role will provide the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity to work alongside one of our highly regarded Principals and their collaborative and close knit team.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have some previous experience in a paralegal or legal support role supporting a team of lawyers. Experience in Insurance law is preferred but not essential.

Law students with law firm or insurance experience looking to transition into the legal profession long term are encouraged to apply as you will be provided with on the job training.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be a law student in your 1^st or 2^nd  year of your Law degree
• To have maintained high academic performance throughout your studies
• Enthusiasm and willingness to work in a team, and also independently
• Excellent organisational skills
• To be open to receiving feedback
• To have sound problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills – verbal and written
• The ability to prioritise tasks with ease
• To allocate appropriate amounts of time to complete own and others work
• Use technology to maximise efficiency
