Our Graduate Program

Our year-long Graduate Program, available in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, is tailored for law graduates who are not yet admitted. It offers the opportunity to explore what a future at Meridian could look like through meaningful work and broad exposure across the firm.

  • In Melbourne and Sydney, graduates may have the opportunity to complete rotations across our General Insurance/Professional & Financial Risks, Health, and Corporate and Commercial practice groups.
  • In Brisbane, graduates may have the opportunity to complete rotations across our General Insurance, Professional & Financial Risks, and Health practice groups.

Applications close on Sunday 16 August 2026, with Graduates starting their placements early 2027.

About the Role

As a Graduate at Meridian, you will:

  • Rotate through multiple practice areas across the firm’s key specialties
  • Work on real matters, supporting our lawyers in delivering practical, commercially focused legal solutions
  • Assist with legal research, drafting and preparation of legal documents
  • Attend client meetings and court proceedings
  • Receive guidance and mentorship from Principal Lawyers and senior legal professionals
  • Be part of a team that values collaboration, diversity, and technical excellence
  • Access ongoing professional development, including support to complete your PLT
  • Participate in firm-wide networking and social events
  • Enjoy a hybrid work environment and a culture that recognises and rewards excellence

About You

We are interested in candidates who are motivated and interested to gain experience and insight into our key specialities across General Insurance, Health, Professional & Financial Risks and Corporate and Commercial . Ideally, you will have:

  • A genuine interest in working in Insurance and/or Health law or litigation
  • Ability to work fast and meticulously with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and be a key member of the Meridian team
  • A great work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your career

Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be a recent Law Graduate or due to complete your law degree by the end of 2026
  • Not be admitted as a solicitor
