What does the job look like?

We are looking for an exceptional professional experienced Linehaul Planner who has vast experience in planning daily Linehaul activity and managing Linehaul Drivers.

What you will do

  • Engineer routes and runs to minimise kms travelled and ensure maximum profitability is achieved.
  • Focus on cost minimisation through effective rostering, vehicle utilisation, cost per labour hour, hours per trip and vehicle operating cost management (cost per km).
  • Effectively plan all linehaul loads for Linfox equipment and Subcontractors (in the most cost-effective manner possible) effectiveness and maximum utilization of units.
  • Effectively managing the Drivers, Loaders and Supervise the dispatch staff on the shift.
  • Communicate effectively with the Warehouse team and loaders to ensure any problems are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Manage the activity (including loading priorities) in the tunnel to ensure that units depart on schedule.  Escalation of any ongoing issues.
  • Ensure paperwork flow procedure is adhered to in an effective and timely manner through development of simplified paperwork flow processes.
  • Provide high standards of integrity in Service offerings, administration and communication to our Customers.
  • Ensure fleet repairs and maintenance programmes are adhered to by all staff and that all defects recorded on the pre-check sheets are recorded daily into the Fleet Defect spreadsheet stored in P Drive.
  • Stay current with NZ road Transport Laws and Legislation

 

What you will need.

  • Strong history of transport scheduling/coordination, 2 years minimum.
  • Working knowledge of relevant New Zealand transport rules and regulations.
  • Excellent understanding of general freight operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of transportation and warehousing and/or receipting functions
  • Excellent understanding of general freight operations including load restraint expertise.
  • SAP warehousing experience desired.
