  • HEW 7 $97,940 - $107,842 + 17% Superannuation (pro rata, part time)

This position is responsible for delivering fast and actionable insight that inform and influence Deakin University’s strategic and tactical decision making. The Product Analyst uses a range of internal and external data sources and data acquisition methodologies to acquire product insights. The role will directly consult and provide strategic advice and support to the development of complex product strategies, Faculty decision-making around course development and review, and market segment/audience strategies. A key contribution of this position is to interpret complex data and information in order to provide strategic advice to key stakeholders across the University to support the University growth targets.

As a Product Analyst, you will:

  • Distil the core issues from complex information, draws accurate conclusions and condense complex information and next steps into simple concise terms that others can understand
  • Seek feedback on improvement opportunities from a diverse range of key stakeholders and implement change through appropriate channels and overcomes obstacles to change
  • Build new and productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders or key and influential individuals both inside and outside the University
  • Strive for excellence and consult regularly with clients to clarify who requires the information, the purpose for which it is required, criteria for success and where and when advice and recommendation is required
  • Communicate with confidence using examples and the most appropriate influencing technique for a given situation to increase understanding and support

 To be successful, you’ll have:

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (analytics, business, marketing or similar) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Extensive analytical experience in a large complex organisation.
  • Experience in preparing market data analysis, reports, and presentations from diverse data sources.
  • Relevant experience in the preparation and monitoring of complex data sets and performance reports
  • Experience and/or certifications in analytics / business intelligence platforms; customer relationship management systems; data visualisation and dashboarding tools; online survey software and analysis platforms.
