The Senior Fees Officer is responsible for the administration of student fees across all student cohorts, ensuring accurate records including variations to records, within agreed deadlines, in accordance with University Policy, pricing strategy and Government legislation. This position provides advice in relation to fee assessment, remission of debt in special circumstances and data entry within the Student Management System to ensure data integrity. 

This position provides high level advice to staff across the University in respect to student finance matters however a background in finance is not required. What is more important is the ability problem solve both reactively and proactively and communicate effectively.

 

As a Senior Officer, Fees, you will:

  • Provide expert guidance to both staff and students on all matters related to fees.
  • Deliver high-level administrative support for fee invoicing, manage debt remission in special cases, oversee debt management and sponsorship arrangements, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements, government legislation, and University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely invoicing of tuition fees to students and third-party sponsors, while overseeing debt management processes in accordance with government legislation and University policies and procedures.
  • Analyse and implement complex pricing scenarios within the Student Management System.
  • Deliver expert advice and training to University staff and students on interpreting Commonwealth legislation and University policies related to student finance, including HELP schemes and invoicing arrangements. 

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A qualification with subsequent relevant experience OR extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative areas OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate communications that are appropriate for their intended audience.
  • Proven capability to work positively and effectively as part of a collaborative work team, to accommodate and work well with different working styles and to work independently where required.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities, organise and plan, and to meet rigid and conflicting demands and deadlines.
  • Experience using the Microsoft suite, in particular Excel.
