Deakin has been providing outstanding undergraduate occupational therapy education since 2001 from the Geelong Waterfront campus and from the Warrnambool Campus since 2024. The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy pass stream and the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Honours stream have successfully been accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. The Lecturer will contribute to high quality teaching across the course, undertake research, and publish in high quality journals.

As Lecturer, Occupational Therapy, you will:
- Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the course to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources (including through unit leadership roles).
- Contribute to the review of units and courses and implement refinements.
- Assist in applying industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
- Adopt innovation in curriculum design at the unit level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
- Initiate, design, conduct and may lead intra and inter-disciplinary research collaborations, to enable major breakthroughs in knowledge and understanding and solutions to complex problems.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
- At least five years’ experience in occupational therapy practice including being a clinical educator
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
- Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or success in obtaining external research funding
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
