Position Overview

This Research Fellow will contribute to the conduct and coordination of a cohort study investigating relationships between neural, cognitive and social functioning in individuals with and without neurodevelopmental conditions. This position is based within the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit (CNU), which is situated within the School of Psychology in the Faculty of Health.

In addition, the Research Fellow may lead research activities and is expected to engage collaboratively to develop novel research outcomes. This position is suited to a researcher keen to explore and build on new areas and foster research and researcher development to have real-world impact and contribute to a dynamic and enthusiastic research team.

 

As a Research Fellow, you will:

  • Coordinate the cohort study, provide the Chief Investigators with assistance for regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Conduct and oversee participant recruitment and enrolment, including advertising and participant liaison
  • Conduct assessment of participants, including neuropsychological and EEG assessments.
  • Undertake professional and administrative roles and responsibilities that enhance the discipline and Deakin
  • Develop the data collection tools whilst inputting and managing study data

                                                                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions
  • Experience managing cohort studies in the field of cognitive neuroscience, preferably involving children with and without neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Experience administering, acquiring, and analysing electroencephalography (EEG)
  • Experience conducting research with children, and liaising with their families
