As a Management Accountant, Research, you will:

  • Deliver the annual budget and forecast submissions, staff management plans, monthly reporting
  • Manage and/or mentor a team of Assistant Accountants to provide and deliver a high quality client service to identified Faculties, Strategic Research Centres and Institutes across all aspects of research finance and grant accounting
  • Maintenance of a high standard, culture and practice for application of research expenditure and subsequent financial reporting and acquittals to ensure activity reflects and is in accordance with grant and contract funding rules
  • Compile the external reporting of complex research grants, agreements and partnerships
  • Assist in the development and delivery of plans for training, education, awareness of Research systems, tools & policies to ensure a high standard, culture and practice for application of research expenditure

                                                                                                                                                                            

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Post graduate qualifications, or progress towards, in accounting, finance or other similar discipline and extensive relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant accounting experience and/or education
  • Certified Practising Accountant / Chartered Accountant
  • Previous experience at a senior administrative level in financial administration and related activities, preferably in a University or other large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies and procedures
