As a Coordinator, Technical Services, you will:

  • Oversee laboratory operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant teaching and research environments, with a focus on chemistry, biosafety, and biosecurity.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to staff, students, and external partners on laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use.
  • Support technical staff and resource allocation within the School of Medicine to optimise workflow and lab efficiency.
  • Advise on biosafety and biosecurity compliance, including import/export regulations and safe handling of biological materials.
  • Lead Occupational Health and Safety initiatives, ensuring best practices for hazardous materials, dangerous goods, and overall lab safety.                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in laboratory management, technical operations, or administration.
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations and compliance requirements for laboratory safety, biological samples, and hazardous materials.
  • Proven ability to train and support technical staff, researchers, and students in laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
  • Experience in laboratory management or supervision, with the ability to coordinate resources effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth laboratory operations.
