About the role:

The Senior Administrative Officer provides a high level of administrative and operational support to the Deakin Health Economics team. As a member of the School of Health and Social Development, this role acts as the primary point of contact liaising with key University stakeholders on behalf of the Deakin Health Economics Leadership Team.

The successful incumbent will have the ability to work independently and effectively as part of team, be organised and able to meet rigid and conflicting demands and deadlines.

 

As a Senior Administrative Officer, you will:

  • Provide secretariat support to the Deakin Health Economics Leadership Team including preparation and distribution of agendas, attendance at meetings, minutes, and implementation of agreed resolutions.
  • Coordinate Deakin Health Economics communications, including liaising with stakeholders to collect information to be distributed in the biennial newsletter, annual reports and for website maintenance.
  • Oversee a range of administrative matters including room booking, event coordination, processing conference funding applications, ordering goods and services.
  • Coordinate various consultation processes and provide high-level administrative support to Deakin Health Economics Stream Leaders in the implementation of various strategic initiatives and research projects.

               

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate communications that are appropriate for their intended audience.
  • Demonstrated analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • High-level computer skills in multiple software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, databases, Internet browsers and electronic mail exchange.
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgement, initiative, diplomacy, tact, and discretion as well as proven experience handling sensitive and personal information in a confidential and appropriate manner.
  • Experience in a communications role will be beneficial.
