About the role

The Chief Information & Infrastructure Officer holds a key senior leadership position, entrusted with steering the strategic vision and overseeing the implementation of the newly integrated Physical Infrastructure and Digital Divisions structure. This integration reflects the complementary and interdependent nature of these domains, which are essential for advancing the university's strategic objectives. This role will be pivotal in transitioning a new team to an operating model focusing on collaboration, innovation and creating positively aligned interactions between our physical and digital infrastructures.

As the Chief Information & Infrastructure Officer, you will:

  • Lead the Physical Infrastructure & Digital Division, driving strategic direction and innovation. Foster a human-centric, ethical and robust approach to functions and activities, ensuring successful outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Drive university-wide strategies and policies of complexity and integrate programs and initiatives to amplify education, research and innovation capabilities.
  • Provide authoritative counsel and expert advice on new issues, champion initiatives that optimise outcomes, align with strategic plans, and leverage available resources.
  • Lead and negotiate complex matters on behalf of the university and harness information and opportunities to reinforce the future vision.
  • Exemplify Deakin's values and behaviours, inspiring colleagues across the university. Coach and mentor team members, fostering growth. Create a safe, sustainable and productive working environment in line with university strategies and policies.
