The Officer, Digital Services position plays an operational, administrative and support role for all stakeholders of the Graduate Employment Division. The position plays a key role in providing high quality digital support, enabling the Graduate Employment Division to deliver DeakinTALENT programs and services to all Deakin students—across both Campus and Cloud. This includes assisting in the setup of seamless and systematic work processes to support easy accessibility, adoption and engagement of information and digitisation of activities undertaken by internal and external stakeholders. The position also assists in the development of visual designs for various platforms, and will assist with research, collation of data and creation of dynamic reports for informed decision making.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Strategy and Operations the Officer will:
- Provide prompt, courteous, and effective technical support to customers, including staff, students, alumni and employers, in the use of DeakinTALENT systems and platforms.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technology solutions.
- Create practical, simple and accessible solutions to problems after considering multiple perspectives.
- Adopt new ideas and approaches and learn from various points of view and confirm understanding.
- Collect and analyse information and data from a variety of appropriate sources to inform decision making.
- Understand local processes, prepare standard documents, manage records, regularly track progress of work tasks and identify key issues.
- Deliver effective and efficient outcomes and outputs against team and operational work plans.
- Generate new ideas and shares those ideas with others in the work area to improve process and practice.
- Seek to understand the evolving digital landscape and keep up to date with digital trends and new technologies.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Completion of a Degree (in information systems, information technology or data science); without subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of a Post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant experience as a Technician; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Experience in a customer service or IT support role, with proven ability to seek resolutions to meet customer and business needs
- Knowledge of and experience in the use of a variety of digital tools in the context of providing support and service to customers.
