As the Reception Officer you will provide reception, administration and program support for Deakin Residential Services. Working collaboratively with the team you will deliver high quality customer service to current and future residents, and all stakeholders. Acting as a point of contact for residents you will also provide information about the residential community and events or referrals to an appropriate service.

As a Reception Officer, you will:
- Role model professional and ethical behaviors
- Consult with available sources to gather relevant information and seek the expertise and advice of other people as appropriate
- Engage in process improvement activities and adopt new ideas, approaches and changes to work practices
- Respond promptly to stakeholder requests, queries, or complaints to ensure stakeholder needs are met to agreed standards and timelines
- Provide basic advice to customers and make appropriate referrals to senior staff and/or other areas of the University
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Completion of a Diploma level qualifications with relevant work experience or a certificate level qualification with post- certificate relevant work experience.
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
Special requirements
- Regular work outside business hours is required, (24hr roster including morning, afternoon and night shifts – Monday – Sunday)
- Working with Children Check (refer to Recruitment Procedure)
- The position holder will be required to undertake warden training and perform the role of warden and/or head warden in cases of building evacuations or other critical incidents.
