As a Technical Officer, you will:
- Provide technical support for teaching programs, including setup and maintenance of specimens, mannequins, clinical equipment, and molecular biology materials.
- Coordinate equipment and materials for practical classes, resolving technical issues to ensure smooth operations and meet staff and student needs.
- Manage documentation, track progress, and proactively address issues to meet agreed timelines and standards.
- Advise staff and students on the safe use, ordering, and disposal of chemicals, biologicals, and equipment.
- Ensure a safe and efficient working environment through regular inspections, housekeeping, and adherence to OH&S requirements.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Completion of a Degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of a Post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant experience as a Technician; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting, ideally within a tertiary education environment.
- Good knowledge of OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) principles and an understanding of the requirements for safety when working with biological and chemical hazards.
