We create and deliver engaging leadership and organisational development experiences that help strengthen Deakin’s culture, build capability, and enhance the people experience. From practical skill-building workshops to immersive leadership programs and university-wide engagement initiatives, we support our leaders and teams to grow, lead with purpose, and shape a positive, future-focused workforce.

  • Capable People – Encouraging people to achieve and continuously improve through capability building and skills development programs, performance and feedback tools and people leader programs

  • Sustainable Design – Enabling success through design that drives productivity and performance including workforce planning.

The Senior Officer, Leadership & Organisational Development is a hands-on role in Deakin’s dynamic L&OD team, helping to boost organisational capability, engagement and productivity. You’ll play a key part in delivering impactful capability programs and university-wide engagement initiatives. In this role, you’ll work closely with stakeholders and participants, providing friendly, timely advice and support to ensure our programs run smoothly and deliver real value.

As a Senior Officer, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver organisational development programs and initiatives that meet defined objectives.
  • Provide clear advice, guidance, and support to a diverse range of stakeholders on programs and systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement improvements to systems and processes.
  • Deliver dedicated support for a variety of programs across the employee lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement practical, accessible solutions that address the needs of Deakin team members

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in administration and related activities in a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience in project management and ability to manage stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
