As the Manager, Research Education and Development, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand the researcher education and development offerings that align with Deakin’s goals and future needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify capability gaps, emerging skills and technologies.
- Partner with other areas of the university and act as a representative of the broader Researcher Development Academy, providing input and insights into senior level discussions and decisions.
In a typical week, you will:
- Use knowledge of key business drivers to inform the development of concepts and strategies
- Translate complex issues into clear and understandable goals and targets for Deakin
- Manage workloads and resources to deliver agreed outcomes and establish systems and procedures to guide work and track progress.
- Integrate multiple data sources to seek trends and analyse specific challenges.
- Provide tailored coaching to enable individuals to deliver high quality solutions and set clear standards of expected behaviour.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management/team leader expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Knowledge of planning, projects and budgets in complex organisations.
- Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain strong and productive relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
- Highly developed consulting, interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop collaborative work teams and proven capability to achieve quality customer service to clients and quality improvement to a wide range of practices and services.
