About the role:

The Senior Officer, Student Orientation and Engagement leads the coordination and delivery of orientation and student experience programs across campuses, including on the ground support at Warrnambool campus. This role supervises student casuals and volunteers, supports event planning, and collaborates with stakeholders to continuously improve student engagement initiatives aligned with University goals.

 

As a Senior Officer, Student Orientation and Engagement you will:

  • Lead and deliver the Student Experience Program as directed by the Manager, Student Engagement & Orientation, in accordance with the annual health promotion campaign.
  • Provide event support and advice during the pre-planning of medium-risk Orientation events, as well as on-the-ground support during the implementation of these events.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for improvement and continuous feedback to enhance processes and results.
  • Build respectful, inclusive relationships across the University, understanding how different areas connect.
  • Adapt behaviour based on self-awareness and feedback, maintaining resilience and a positive outlook in changing or stressful situations.

                                                                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A degree with relevant experience, extensive specialist knowledge, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in program, project, and event coordination, including scheduling, implementation, delivery, evaluation, and on-the-ground support within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong administrative experience in navigating complex structures, policies, and procedures in a large organisation.
  • Experience working effectively in high-pressure, diverse environments involving face-to-face, phone, and written communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality services and support within a large organisational setting.
