About the role:

The Coordinator, Research Support, plays a key role in the execution of our research strategy. The role will coordinate grant submissions and tender proposals for researchers. The position also plays an important role in ensuring that administrative resources and processes deliver timely and accurate information, to facilitate the growth of the Institutes research program

In this position you will:

  • Provide pre-award support to academic staff, including feedback on structure, content, and budget development, in line with University guidelines.
  • Offer post-award support, managing sub-awards and variations for academic staff.
  • Oversee Institute-level assessments and reviews of external funding applications.
  • Facilitate collaboration between academic staff, Institute stakeholders, and external teams (e.g., Finance, Grants and Contracts, Business Development) to meet funding and commercialization goals.
  • Advise the Director on funding opportunities and performance, in consultation with the Specialist, Research Funding, and Executive Officer.
  • Coordinate internal communications, workshops, and review panels for grants and contracts, and serve as the primary contact for researchers on related matters.        

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree in accounting, finance or business with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise in accounting, finance or business; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and/or clients from business, government or community sectors and students.
  • Experience in the field of research administration.
  • Knowledge of the academic research landscape.
  • Experience negotiating new stakeholder agreements.
