About the role:

The Senior Manager, Portfolio Financial Planning & Analysis plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the university’s financial performance, planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Performance, the Senior Manager, Portfolio Financial Planning & Analysis will work closely with Portfolio leaders, finance partners and other finance and cross-functional teams to provide support for key decision making on all aspects of financial management and performance growth. The role will own and take charge of financial planning & analysis and forecasting to provide actionable insights and recommendations for improved Portfolio performance to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the University.

 

The Senior Manager, Portfolio Financial Planning and Analysis will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the university’s financial planning and forecasting processes. Prepare detailed financial models, forecasts, and scenarios to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, including coordination with Portfolio teams, preparation of budget proposals, and consolidation of Portfolio budgets. Monitor budget performance and provide insights into variances and trends.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance and key metrics.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives and long-term planning. Provide financial insights and analysis to inform strategic decisions and business cases.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial planning and analysis processes. Implement best practices to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of financial planning and reporting.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration, and CA/CPA qualification in required.
  • Extensive experience in the development of strategic, operational and business plans and providing strategic advice and support at an executive level
  • Demonstrated high level analytic, problem solving and research skills and the ability to develop strategies, innovative solutions and authoritative reports on documents and policies of a complex nature.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial planning and analysis software, ERP systems, and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel).
