The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant, Clinical is to assist in the coordination of administration activities of the Clinical Learning Program within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The appointee is responsible for assisting with the coordination of clinical placements, liaison with affiliated health services, monitoring and reporting on students’ clinical placement attendance and will also provide administrative support to staff and students.

 

As an Administrative Assistant, Clinical, you will:

  • Consult with available sources to gather relevant information and seek the expertise and advice of other people as appropriate.
  • Assist in the coordination of the delivery of the Clinical Learning Program for the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Studies, academic staff and students with clinical issues and the administrative requirements to obtain placements from health agencies including advice on Working with Children checks, Vaccinations and Police Record checks.
  • Assist the Manager, Clinical Experience with the daily running of the School of Nursing and Midwifery general office by providing efficient and effective administrative service to health services, students and staff.
  • Ensure that all clinical placement information is provided to staff and students in a timely manner.

                                                                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Completion of an Associate Diploma level qualifications with relevant work experience or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience
  • Completion of a post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant and on the job training; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and deal with competing demands and deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate in multiple software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, databases, internet and email.
