As a Systems Administrator, you will:
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and software including software updates, security patches, and general con figuration maintenance.
- Provide specialist technical services to identify and resolve incidents and problems across a broad range of services, provide request fulfilment, and deliver operational, tactical, and strategic digital projects, ensuring alignment with team and project objectives.
- Collaborate with senior team members to plan, design, and execute the migration of on-premises systems to cloud platforms; primarily Azure, with AWS and GCP where relevant.
- Coordinate, implement and support delivery of cloud-based solutions, ensuring they meet the Deakin’s requirements for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures related to both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Experience administering Linux and Windows servers.
- Experience of working with Cloud services such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Experience administering servers, storage, and networking hardware.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Experience with containerisation technologies
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems.
