About the role
The Strategic Adviser, Infrastructure and Digital provides high-level strategic advice, oversight, and governance to the Chief Information & Infrastructure Officer (CIIO) and acts as an adviser on a diverse range of strategic and operational matters relating to the division which includes Enterprise Architecture, Engagement, Portfolio Delivery, Systems & Solutions, Infrastructure & Cloud Services, Resilience and Cyber Security. The role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of transformative initiatives that drive a high-performing, sustainable, inclusive, and innovative workplace.
The Strategic Adviser reports directly to the Chief Information & Infrastructure Officer and works closely with senior leadership, staff, and external stakeholders to shape and implement the University’s long-term strategic goals within the Infrastructure and Digital division.
As the Strategic Adviser, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members in delivering strategic initiatives, ensuring their growth and development.
- Lead CIIO-led governance activities, ensuring effective decision-making and prioritization of key initiatives. Oversee the development and execution of strategies that optimize project and program delivery, ensuring that all initiatives support the University’s mission and values.
- Investigate major issues and stimulate the development of strategies to resolve problems affecting operations and operate within the constraints of University objectives and professional standards.
- Contribute to the development of the strategic direction for Digital Services, in alignment with the wider University Services portfolio and create a shared sense of purpose by demonstrating how elements of the strategy fit together and contribute to higher-level goals.
To be successful, you’ll have
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with appointment at level
- Extensive experience conceptualising, developing and implementing contemporary solutions, strategies and services to achieve a large organisation’s objectives.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary relevant discipline practices.
- Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain strong and productive relationships with internal and external partners and customers.
