About the Role:
Casual Hospitality Assistants will provide assistance in the daily front of house and function/event operations of the Waterfront Pantry, including meeting room and dining room set ups/pack downs and general waiter service over all dining and periods. The staff member will provide an excellent and consistent level of customer and hospitality service to all clients (visitors, guests, students and staff). This position is based on a roster system and flexibility of hours is required to work mornings, days, evenings and/or weekends.
To be successful, you'll have:
• Excellent hospitality skills and previous experience in hospitality settings.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce clear
and accurate communications that are appropriate for their intended audience.
• Proven capability to work positively and effectively as part of a collaborative work
team, accommodate and thrive in diverse working styles, and work independently
when necessary.
• Demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, diplomacy, tact and
discretion when dealing with different members of the public.
• Provide intuitive customer service that meets the requirements of individual guests
and resolve issues as they arise in a timely manner.
• Ability to use initiative, seek resolutions to concerns to meet customer and business
needs.
• Coffee making experience is preferred.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
• Effectively work with other team members to deliver front of house and food and
beverage services, maintain service standards and processes, ensuring directed tasks
are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring guests are greeted professionally
with a high standard of presentation, to ensure professional delivery of services.
• Preparation and maintenance of function and meeting rooms, including set up and
pack down of furniture.
• Stocking of tea and coffee stations and ensuring communal catering areas are kept
clean and tidy.
• Preparation of Barista Coffee as needed.
• Food and beverage service including breakfast, lunch and dinner service and corporate event catering.
• Conduct payment transactions.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative where appropriate.
• Performing any additional tasks as instructed, consistent with the scope and
classification of the position.
Additional requirements:
• You may be required to work outside normal business hours (nights, weekends, early
mornings).
• A Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate is mandatory for this position.
• The role requires the incumbent to apply for and maintain a Working with Children
Check.
