About the role:

The Assistant, Logistics provides high quality and timely logistics support to the wider logistics team, including mail distribution, pack and material distribution, warehousing, inwards goods (receipt and distribution), deliveries and porterage operations.

As a Logistics Assistant, you will:

  • Assist in the delivery of logistics goods, services, solutions and advice in the areas of mail distribution, pack and material distribution, warehousing, inwards goods (receipt and distribution) and porterage operations, database updating, ensuring assigned tasks meet quality standards in an effective and timely manner.
  • Ensure a high-level of customer service, adhere to all quality requirements and participate in reviews of work practices to identify opportunities.
  • Adhere to all set health, wellbeing and safety requirements, conduct basic maintenance of equipment and undertake regular upkeep of area to ensure that operational equipment is available and working.
  • Liaise with Coordinator, Logistics to fulfil porterage requests, including sorting mail and warehouse items, courier and freight processing and physical delivery of materials to the required University departments/ areas/ staff.
  • Safe operation of manual handling equipment, pack/print equipment, mail despatch, freight and other University systems used to process inward and outward mail and freight.

What you will bring:

  • Completion of a Trades Certificate or completion of year 12 with relevant work experience; or
  • Equivalent relevant experience or combination of relevant experience and education/training
