As a Clinical Trial Manager, you will:

  • Project manage a large scale, multistate clinical trial (HARMON-E)  
  • Oversee a project team of 10+ staff and students from multidisciplinary backgrounds including mental health clinicians, allied health professionals and research assistants, to enact the trial in a high-quality manner  
  • Update ethics applications, study protocols, standard operating procedures, data safety and monitoring reporting, and other key research documents and interaction with other regulatory bodies  
  • Liaise with participants with mental illness and a wide range of key stakeholder groups including lived experience partners, health providers, professional organisations and primary health networks that form the MAGNET clinical trial national network  
  • Conduct escalation of care process and adverse event monitoring (dependant on clinical experience) 
  • Schedule, staff and plan the randomisation of groups of individuals with mood disorders across different states and time zones and providing staff support in program delivery  
  • Other research-related administration including budget management, completing progress and a final report to the MRFF and chairing regular Steering Committees meetings and preparing associated documents  

 To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Post graduate qualification in Biomedical Science, Nursing, Psychology or other relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing or coordinating clinical trials, especially in those with mental illness or vulnerable populations (preferable) 
  • Current registration as a mental health clinician (preferable) 
  • Familiarity with GCP regulatory requirements.
  • Substantial subsequent relevant experience in clinical trials
  • Excellent communication skills to enable working with professional staff, strong consumer focus, able to manage both internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with trial participants and researchers
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of clinical research processes, regulations and methodology.
  • Demonstrated organisational and planning skills and independent decision-making ability. 
  • Advanced critical thinking and risk analysis.
