As the Senior Officer, Events, you will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of both internal and fee-for-service professional events and conferences. You will also support the commercial hire and community use of University facilities across the Melbourne Burwood, Geelong Waterfront, and Geelong Waurn Ponds campuses.
While the role involves some administrative tasks, you'll have plenty of opportunities to step out from behind your desk to engage with clients and manage a variety of events, some of which may take place outside of regular business hours.

As a Senior Officer in Events, you will:
- Provide advice, support, and assistance in the planning and execution of an annual program of events, including local and international conferences, venue hire, and visits to the university.
- Support delivery of a range of corporate and fee-for-service events, including tasks such as venue coordination, sourcing suppliers, managing logistics, and assisting with financial planning and reconciliation.
- Plan and oversee the coordination and management of commercial use and facility hire across the Burwood and Geelong Campuses, including preparing quotations, liaising with clients and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with University policies and relevant legislation.
- Provide event support and advice during the planning stages and on-site, assisting in resolving any issues or concerns to ensure smooth event delivery and a positive experience for clients and attendees.
- Develop and implement hybrid events and support the integration of technology and virtual platforms to enhance event delivery.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience within a high-level organisational and event/project and time management skills.
- Experience in graphic design is highly desirable
