About the role:
This role is critical in the protection of the safety of students and personnel on campus and requires exceptional customer service and communication skills and an ability to de-escalate volatile situations.
This position has responsibility for training new and existing guards, officers and wardens on emergency procedures and other relevant operating systems such as fire panels, Emergency Warning and Intercommunication Systems (EWIS), hoist bollards, and parking duties.
As a Campus Emergency Warden, you will:
- Frequently patrol campus to support campus operations and provide a friendly security presence.
- Act as Chief Warden, responding to emergency, evacuation or medical incidents.
- Effectively respond to incidents on campus and contribute to the safe evacuation of all occupants
- Conduct and participate in emergency drills.
- Liaise effectively and professionally with campus support team, wardens, security personnel, students and staff.
- Ensure a high-level of customer service, adhere to all quality requirements and participate in reviews of work practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Completion of an Associate Diploma level qualifications with relevant work experience or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience; or
- Completion of a post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant and on the job training; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Hold a current Victorian Private Security Licence and hold (or have the ability to obtain) a Control Room Operator accreditation.
- Advanced First Aid and Mental Health Training.
- Ability to undertake Chief Warden Training.
