This role is an opportunity for a sharp, strategic thinker to work on university-wide initiatives that enhance policies, operations, and service delivery.

This is not a traditional HR role – it’s a consulting-focused position that will suit someone with experience in management consulting, enterprise effectiveness, human capital or strategy. If you have worked in an internal consulting team or a top-tier consulting firm, this role provides the opportunity to apply your expertise in an organisation that values strategic thinking, collaboration, and practical impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Analysing, Advising and supporting project leads: Work closely with senior leaders and project leads to provide insights, structure initiatives, and shape decision making.
  • Solving complex problems: Apply a co-design consulting approach to analyse challenges, synthesise information, and develop well-founded recommendations.
  • Leading strategic initiatives: Drive projects that respond to university priorities, ensuring they are well planned, effectively implemented, and sustainable.
  • Enhancing operations – Improve ways of working to strengthen the effectiveness of the division as a connected and genuinely strategic function.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the university: Build relationships, facilitate collaboration, and contribute to embedding sustainable improvements.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience as a business consultant or working as a specialist in a business field
  • Experience drafting reports, briefings and other documents
  • Experience gathering, documenting and managing user requirements.
