As a Senior Officer Student Engagement, you will:
- Support the design, planning and implementation of programs and strategies which are aimed to increase engagement to improve transition, support, progression and retention and therefore a student’s overall success.
- Coordinate and promote student transition programs and activities with a particular focus on the Health Peer Mentor Program.
- Provide administrative support for orientation and Student Initiative Funding activities and liaise regularly with faculty Student Societies clubs to support their activities and encourage opportunities to integrate their involvement in Faculty-level activities and programs.
- Participate in faculty-wide projects and any other duties relating to student support which will meet the changing needs of students enrolled in courses within the faculty and commensurate with the scope and classification of the position.
- Strive for excellence and consult regularly with stakeholders to clarify who requires the information, the purpose for which it is required, criteria for success and where and when advice and recommendation is required.
- Communicate with confidence using examples and the most appropriate influencing technique for a given situation to increase understanding and support.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Administrative experience working within a large organisation with formal administrative structures, policies and procedures, preferably in a tertiary educational institution.
- Customer service or student administrative experience, preferably in a tertiary educational institution.
- An understanding of the student journey.
