As a Specialist, Research Funding, you will:

  • Advise and support academic staff in the preparation of their funding applications, including feedback on the structure and content of applications and budget development in line with the University costing and pricing model
  • Provide high level, intensive pre-award grant development support for all scheme submissions (including ARC, CRC, CoE and CAT 2-4, state and local government grants and philanthropic grants)
  • Provide strategic leadership in helping researchers identify and engage with partners to help grow Faculty CAT2-4 funding
  • Assisting academic and professional research leaders to identify, develop and implement academic capacity building projects and activities to expand research income generation     
  • Facilitate active collaboration between academic staff, Faculty stakeholders, and teams that sit outside the Faculty, including Finance and Procurement, Grants and Contracts, Business Development and Commercial, and Intellectual Property and Commercialisation, to achieve strategic goals in relation to external research funding and commercialisation for the Faculty
  • Provide high level advice to the Associate Dean Research and other Faculty stakeholders on funding opportunities and funding application performance
  • In collaboration with the Associate Dean Research, develop and implement local plans in alignment with Faculty and University strategies to achieve sustained funding performance
  • Support Faculty-level assessments and reviews of funding applications

 

 To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
