About this role:

The Analyst, Student Insights plays a key role in providing data-driven advice, analysis, and reporting to support strategic and operational planning across the Student Services portfolio, with a strong focus on enhancing the student experience and informing continuous service improvement.

As an Analyst, Student Insights, you will:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of a university-wide analytics framework that supports strategic decision-making.
  • Integrate and analyse diverse data sources to identify trends, resolve issues, and present insights in clear, actionable terms.
  • Deliver innovative technical solutions aligned with Deakin’s strategic goals, promoting modern and efficient work practices.
  • Collaborate across teams to prioritise data requests and ensure timely, high-quality insights for a range of stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement by seeking stakeholder feedback, overcoming change barriers, and applying lessons learned across projects.                                                                                                                                                                                     

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Proven expertise in data analysis, visualisation, and dashboard/report development within large, complex organisations.
  • Skilled in gathering, documenting, and managing user requirements to deliver actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and communicate findings in a clear, user-friendly format.
  • Proficient in data tools including Tableau (essential), with experience in Cognos, Alteryx, R, and SPSS considered advantageous.
