About the role
The Coordinator, People Operations is part of our exceptional People Services department - the operational hub of the People function. Made up of three specialist teams (People Operations, Recruitment Services and Payroll), People Services acts as the first point of contact for HR support across Deakin. We deliver a range of essential services including handling general HR enquiries, managing payroll and coordinating end-to-end recruitment. As part of the wider Customer Experience division, People Services works closely with People and Culture to provide a high-quality, customer-centric service that is dependable and professional. Together, these qualities help us create a positive experience for our people.
The Coordinator, People Operations is a crucial role ensuring the efficient operation of the People Operations team by focusing on process alignment and consistency across all employment lifecycle activities. This position will respond to emerging challenges and ensure that operational practices are standardised and effectively implemented across the team.
As the Coordinator, People Operations you will:
- Coordinate activities within the People Operations team to deliver high quality solutions and achievement of goals across the employment lifecycle.
- Effectively manage the contract management processes in a timely manner in line with the EA requirements.
- Coordinate and manage the clean-up, accuracy and effectiveness of data input into people systems, implementing quality improvement initiatives, conducting regular reviews and audits and proactive data maintenance.
- Maintain and use a variety of systems, processes, diverse range of people and sources to gather information and gain a deeper understanding of the employment lifecycle.
- Support the Senior Coordinator, People Operations in the delivery of targeted projects that ensure compliance and ensure an improved experience for staff.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Prior experience working in human resource administration or systems environment.
