The role:
This position within our People and Culture division presents a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise developed within similarly large, complex environments. As Senior Consultant, Workplace Relations, you’ll lead complex employee relations matters, offering expert advice to support a fair and compliant workplace. This role is pivotal in managing legislative change and embedding best practice across the University.
In this role you will:
- Provide expert guidance on complex workplace relations issues, including enterprise agreement interpretation, case management, and industrial disputes.
- Represent the University at the Fair Work Commission, including during conciliations and enterprise bargaining, and prepare supporting documentation and advice.
- Lead the end-to-end management of complex workplace complaints, including bullying, misconduct, and discrimination matters, ensuring fair, confidential, and timely resolution through robust case handling and clear, evidence-based reporting.
- Collaborate with senior P&C partners and leaders to design and implement proactive employee relations approaches that address workplace challenges, foster a respectful culture, and ensure alignment with organisational values and compliance standards.
- Build manager capability through tailored coaching and training in conflict resolution, grievance handling, and workplace relations best practices.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise in workplace relations or employment law; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Knowledge of workplace/industrial relations legislation and practices
