Position overview
The Senior Portfolio Analyst plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making and optimising the performance of the university’s portfolio of initiatives, programs, and investments. This position is responsible for providing high-level analysis, insights, and reporting to inform executive leadership and drive evidence-based planning across academic, research, and operational domains.
As a Senior Portfolio Analyst, you will:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of the university’s strategic and operational portfolios to assess performance, risk, and alignment with institutional goals.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate portfolio insights to senior leadership.
- Provide analytical support for strategic planning, investment prioritisation, and resource allocation decisions.
- Collaborate with planning and finance teams to ensure portfolio decisions are financially sustainable and strategically aligned.
- Support the development and refinement of portfolio management frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (engineering, IT, project management or business).
- Extensive experience working in large scale PMOs or Portfolios , in a physical or digital delivery environment.
- Experience in resource capacity planning and demand management.
- Experienced in Project Management Office (PMO) functions and Portfolio Project Management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall ways of working & principles, and other project delivery methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in business analysis or project analysis with the ability to interpret complex project data and provide actionable insights.
