About the role:

As the Officer, Recreation Facilities you will play a key role in delivering high-quality health, fitness, and recreation services across Deakin University’s fitness centres and sports facilities. You will be responsible for leading the relationship, communication and administration requirements with a range of Deakin’s community sporting club tenants in addition to fitness centres.

Working collaboratively with a range of internal and external customers you will have a strong focus on service excellence, organisation, and team collaboration, ensuring a professional and positive experience, fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and proactive attitude.

As the Officer, Recreation Facilities you will be:

  • Coordinating enquiries and bookings for recreation facilities across all campuses, servicing both internal and external customers.
  • Overseeing fitness centre membership services across all campuses, including communication with fitness centre members.
  • Supporting the Recreation Facilities team in the planning and delivery of marketing and communications initiatives, including content development and implementation across key channels.
  • Managing software programs and systems that underpin the operations of Recreation Facilities, including the fitness centre function.
  • Collecting, analysing, and reporting on data and insights to inform and strengthen strategic decision-making.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to support university-wide programs, student services, and community engagement initiatives.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Completion of a Degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or
  • Completion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or
  • Completion of a Post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant experience as a Technician; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in operating in a high-pressure diverse environment, involving face to face, phone, and written issue
  • Experience providing services and support in a large organisation
